The Discipline Project

10 Years, doing the same thing over and over and over and over again. Every month. Money saved. Money invested. Over and over and over again.

Why?

After you’ve got the basics down pat. Markets work, risk and return, diversification, asset allocation, there’s something that binds it all together: Discipline.

Investing over the long term is about how you behave.

“The market’s going to crash.”

“I’m waiting for the next crash.”

“What about the recession?”

“What should I do this year?”

Me? I decided to take a stand. Put the guessing games and stock picking behind me. Commit to doing the same thing for 10 years straight, starting in July 2020. An three ETF index portfolio, which has been tweaked along the way to include more sub asset classes and a value ETF.

Same amount of money every month, rain, hail or shine. Buy. Buy. Buy.

Anyone looking to build a portfolio should seek financial advice to find out which strategy is right for them, if you’re struggling with investment discipline then a financial adviser can help, consider one of Australia’s best financial advisers, they can  help you identify your goals and put in place a reliable strategy to pursue them
